For the first time, I've purchased a nice comforter set, matching
sheets, dust ruffle, the 68 pillows that go with it ;-)
and matching curtains. It is the Golden Tapestry line by Springmaid.
Okay, so it isn't from Macy's. It fits into our budget.

Now what?

Sure, I can buy doo dads that match the decor, but I'm a complete
idiot when it comes to color choices. I do realize my bed set is
on the dark side, but I want a warm bedroom in the evening with
lamps and such, not blinding daylight.

The colors are considered wine and brown, yet I have found it
also called red. Funny, because I would call it a rust and gold.
Whew, where to begin?

I realize one can't simply toss out a color and it will work, but I
was hoping someone could enlighten me about wall color. I
don't want brown walls or dark walls, but it seems they should not
be very light, either.

A side note about the curtains, I did not buy full length curtains, but
rather the slender topper-like curtains that only cross the top.
Shall I use a gold sheer with them?

Should I take the comforter to a paint matching store and go
with the lighter colors in the spread?

Please help!
