Swamp Hibiscus, Scarlet Rose Mallow, Texas Star, Scarlet Hibiscus
Hibiscus coccineus

New to this site. I got this plant at a plant sale and I would like to know if white blooms are common? All the pictures I see are red.

That's the white version of the red Texas Star Hibiscus. I've seen it called the "albino version" and more commonly called Wings Hibiscus. Texas Star only comes in two colors (white and red), but I hear they're working on some different color hybrids.
