It will be sad to see it go but we need to make room for a conventional furnace. I'm posting flyers around town in hopes that someone will take a liking to the fireplace. Its a Waterford...made in Ireland and the UK, heats like H*LL! , it actully gets too warm in our little house on just the 1st setting. But it will be nice to have a conventional furnace installed for a more regulated heating system in our little house. Its an enameled cast iron Fireplace we added to our home when the furnace broke down in our house --- the original furnace is the old kind that sits under the floor, I'll be happy to see that monster gone!

Hmmm, wonder what shipping to Virginia might be? Can it run on propane?

Whew! I'd hate to think about shipping that heavy beast! I dont know if it can run on propane. An add in our local paper might fetch a buyer but I'm kinda hoping it will fetch a trade, I could use a new 'small' kitchen window, we'll see what transpires, its been so hot here this summer I really doubt that there will be much interest --- gotta let it go before they put the furnace in! If not ... my son is 'finally' looking to buy a house, I can always pass it on to him. I saw your stove, I like it! I kind of wanted a "corn" burning stove but DH doesn't want to mess with loading & cleaning a stove. Seems in iowa burning Corn would be a cheap alternative. Can you burn corn in your stove?

I don't think I can burn corn.

My stove will go on the hearth and vent into the brick chimney here in my LR where some earlier tenant had a wood stove. At the moment, the hearth sports propane non-vented gas logs and a big mantle surround. It is to large to go in my sister's LR but we'd like some kind of back-up heat in there. We get a new furnace and AC in a few days!

My stove weighs a little over 400 pounds and is currently stored in a friend's garage in NC. He will bring it up to me Labor Day weekend. I have to find help to unload it and bring it into the house... which means first moving the gas logs.

Sorry about the poor photo quality.

Lucky you Darius, I wish I could get CA, I just cant spare the $ right now -- another day ... another dollar. It will be nice just to have the furnace added in place of the gas stove, that Waterford stove really became too hot in the room where it sets. You could probably pay someone a few bucks to help you get your cast iron stove in.
