You might start with research on these companies?
Hope it helps.

Don't plan on saving any money unless you live on a mountaintop (or maybe in your case if you were right on the coast). Windpower economics depend on wind which is unrealiable in most of the US.
Here's a map of US windpower potential. [HYPERLINK@rredc.nrel.gov]
Here's a link to Mass. Wind activities [HYPERLINK@www.eere.energy.gov]

Of course there are non-economic reasons for wanting to generate your own power. Bergy (as suggested by HandyGirl) is a major supplier of small wind turbines in the US. You should also contact your local electricity supplier - most companies stay very current (no pun intended) with windpower developments and will be happy to share information with you.

Thank you so much. I'm going to check each of those links. I am right on the coast, and also on a hillside where the wind is fairly constant. It's a beautifull spot (just a shack when we purchased it) and now between taxes and the rising utility bills, I'm worried about being able to keep my home. Thanks again.

Thank you for the info Paul. Can I find these generators at Lowes or HD? Will it supply electricity for an entire house? Please let me know how it works for you after you've added the transfer switch. Thanks again. Happy Holidays to you and yours. Daisey
