I need help! We have candleabras at work that need your help. My boss wants to know if there is anything we can put on painted metal that candle wax won't stick on. The candles get burned every weekend because we have weddings out in our chapel and the wax builds up so they have to get scraped off. But when we scrape off the wax we also scrape off paint so the holders start looking shabby. He was thinking of maybe try silicone but has anyone know if that works? I really appreciate any help ya'll can be!!

Yes, WD-40 works and won't hurt your paint. Hope this helps :)

I rinse all of mine in hot water to get the wax off rather than scraping...I use a tub with boiling water for the larger pieces, and just dip them in for a minute or two, and the wax rolls right off

We did put the toppers and the clear catchers in hot water but the holders are a little too big for that. They are about 6 feet tall so we have to scrape them. The toppers came real and catchers came real clean with a little scrubbing and the holders are a little better. We have decided that they need to be cleaned more often so the wax don't build up so bad.

It's not clear what shape they are from this discussion but if you are dealing with cup-shaped candle holders add a bit of water before you place the candles them will prevent them from sticking. They may vacuum in, but they will not stick to the sides, and can be removed with a knife.
