Our kitchen cabinets are the dull, drab boring run of the mill
things that came with the place. As I've been spiffying up other
areas in the room, I've decided it's time. I'm tired of looking at
these ugly things.
Here is the situation. I'm not lazy. I just know myself. If it means
taking doors off hinges, prepping, sanding and all that nonsense
typically done so by those doing things right...I won't do it at all.
I don't need them perfect, and am not willing to spend an enormous
amount of time on them. Quite simply, I just want to take the doors
off, paint them and then put them back on. We're not high society
people, I'm just looking for pretty white cabinets that I can squirt
down with cleaner, wipe and be done. Nothing fancy.
Initially, they were light grained naked wood. Someone lightly
stained them brownish, then put a light coat of varnish on them.
That had to be at least twenty years ago, so they are pretty dry
and are not high gloss in the least.
Does there exist such a thing as an acrylic enamel I can just put
right on the cabinets without prepping?
Many thanks for your assistance!
Karen
