I live in Central Illinois but I'm hoping I found the right area. I am looking to send a live memorial gift to a girlfriend whose daughter passed away and would like it to be something she could plant but have no idea what would grow well where she's at. She's in Oklahoma, zone 7a - Any suggestions????

Maybe a Gardenia? There are a number of varieties, even a pretty little dwarf one. Check with a nursery to see if anyone can give you info on what would grow best there. Be sure to include some sort of care instructions for your friend to help keep the plant in good health.

What part of Oklahoma? (The western half of the state is very different from the eastern half in terms of climate.)
