Did your epoxy paint come with directions on it for how to clean afterwards? I know I did the epoxy paint on my fiberglass shower and it said on the paint package how to clean it afterwards so you don't damage the paint. I would follow their directions if possible, if you don't have the package anymore I think the biggest thing is to stay away from abrasives, those will wear the paint off. Other than that, the gentler the better as far as cleaners, but if you don't mind maybe having to repaint it again in a few years then use whatever you want. I used Tilex on mine and ended up having to repaint it again in a couple years, not sure if that's why though!
Do you know what the stains are? Is it mildew, rust, soap scum? I'm assuming not mildew because the bleach would have taken care of that, if it's rust or soap scum something acidic like vinegar might work better. Other question--were the stains there before you painted it? If that's the case and they're showing through, then you probably can't get rid of them by cleaning, you'll have to get more paint and put a few more coats on and that should take care of it. I would be a little careful using the Magic Eraser, it will take paint off to some extent so it could reduce the lifetime of the epoxy finish you just put on. But if you just need to get it clean this once and then it won't get stained like this again and need to use it regularly, then it's probably OK.
Hello! No, it didnt take the paint off. I guess the stains came after cause it was so new. The dirt was so stained from dirt, and also any color that I put as in the bath liquid soap. The spic and span, and eraser sponge helped some.
I'm surprised the tub would get so dirty like that just after you painted, I know when I did my shower pan it stayed nice a new looking and was really easy to clean for a while. If you think some of the stains are from your liquid soap, you might try a bathroom cleaner that's made for getting rid of soap scum--bleach and spic n' span aren't necessarily the best cleaners for that.
