I did not buy the all ready mixed stuff from lowes etc. but I have to tell you if you like the look it is very time consuming but really easy. I think it is less messy to do if you buy the plaster powder and the paint color you want to add, put a measured amount of powder and paint and water in a seperate tray add water or paint till desired color and texture. When you have the right mix, write down how much of each you put in the tray . Do this next part on a wall that has already been prepainted with the base color you want take some of the plaster paint mix and trowel it across the wall in sweeping motions in different directions, overlapping and keep going, don`t let it dry too much as you work on one spot until sweeping into the next. Let the tray run out of mix and then add the same proportions of water powder, paint mix again and your color will be the same`as you finish it. It works so much easier with a smaller tray that just fits the trowel and the powdered plaster makes it an easy texture to work with so it`s not so runny and messy.

I`ll try, I have to get my husband to show me how and take pictures of it. That room has bad lighting so I hope I it shows up. It took 8 hours just to do the top 3rd of the wall. I need to go do the rest of my walls the right way, after that I cheated and kind of feau painted the other ones and troweled some mix across the feaux painting. It looks alright but compared to the other wall. Yuck. This computer doesn`t have any camara pix downloaded on it and it only has windows 98 so I don`t know what I can and can`t do on it but my husband can help, i`m sure. I know what you mean about wanting your own place to decorate, it`s all I dreamed of then I got divorced and had to start over and back to the drawing board with my new DH, who has strong oppinions on decorating, unlike my x, so we have a stale mate somewhat and I hate it. My friend when she rented, use to put flat sheets up and staple them to the wall, it looked like wall paper and I loved it!
