This thread is a continuation of one that was getting unwieldy, so we're starting a new thread.
Short and simple: We choose (someone just suggests an idea) something to clean every Thursday. It should take about 30 minutes. If you want to work longer, good for you! If you just want to visit and listen to us talk about it...good too!! We all do the same thing so we can talk about how it went...of didn't !!! :)

Any ideas for next Thursday??

well I have rearranged my son's room- and his playroom and all closets since he started school for the first time going all day.

That took a long time but one other thing was to take all the tupperware out and throw away the icky stuff and organize that cupbaord! That took 30 mintues...

Another good task for Thursday can be to take one cabinet a day and take everything out you will be surprised what may not need to go back in and organize it one at a time. That way you do not get overwhelmed!

Tag your it LOL
here is the playroom all neat and organized-- this took me 8 hours LOL

Hi everyone. Not been on for a couple of weeks (been busy with heaps of stuff including moving my son out of home). He decided to 'leave the nest' and now all the fights are happening. Which(of the twins - that are the only ones home now) is going into his vacated room!!! News for them - going to change it into a guest room for when my parents come over for their visits!!!! I don't think they are going to like that idea - when they realise!!! LOL

Have I missed out on much - other than we have started another thread for the 'Cleaning Tag Team' - well done as the other was getting a tad long!!! We can certainly talk (or at least type)!!!! LOL

Hi Lee! Welcome back! I have been verrrrry busy myself...seldom on!! School is killing me this year...the extra preparation and the extra grading of essays...wow...

Magoo...what a JOB!!!! But it looks fabo!!! I remember those days...sorting through BINS of toys...deciding what to keep and what to toss!!! Never will forget the time I heard something go "Thunk" in son's TinkerToys container...instead of "rattle-rattle"...found a Playboy magazine hidden in there!! ha...I just tossed it and never said a word..!!! He and I laugh about it now that he's 26 and gainfully employed!! :)

Any suggestions for Thursday????? I'm thinking "empty the dishwasher" LOL!!!!! Actually, I organized the bottom of my pantry yesterday!!! I had to take the bird food container and empty it...clean it...replace the bird seed with cat food now that I have my little (big) Brutus to feed. I bought the 20# bag of food for some silly reason...it will probably get stale before he finishes it!!!!

Here are the 2 "men" in my life that I just spoke of...the son and the cat!!! :)
Edited to say...
Weird...the post says "click for a larger image" and there's nothing there!!!

Yes...I have found that MY "messes" are proportionate to how much space I"m given to mess up. I've lived in a one-bedroom apartment to an 8k SF house, and I can mess up (and straighten up periodically!!) all of them!!!! I'm just a messy/cluttery type person.

Me too. Bummer. I was thinking my place is a mess just because I don't have enough space. Oh well. I got chewed out last night by my DH for not keeping the 'common areas' clean. He's a clean-as-you-go type. I'm a go-about-your-day-and-massively-clean-up-when-relatives-come type. Oh well. Can't win 'em all. Guess I'll be trying to change my ways.

You "clean freaks" are so lucky you are not at my house today!

My friend, azbelle, came and helped me or it would still be MESSY...

I got a bunch of clothes from a gal on Freecycle...seems she buys past due storage from storage companies...sells some in a garage sale...and some on Ebay...the clothes and stuffed toys went to ME!

I had told her what I couldn't use (most of it) I would donate to Turn-Around on our Army bAse (run by the Chapel)...and the stuffed animals to the Widowed Support Center...(they are re-furbished by us widows and given to charities)

I had to make 2 trips to her house to get the stuff...now I have my car full going to the Base tomorrow...and I threw a LOT of stuff away as not being in a good enough shape to give to anyone!

Aren't ya'll proud of me?? That was my Thursday work! Jo

I vacuumed and cleaned Thursday night after dinner with my son while he did abut 5 loads of laundry. The laundry room at his small apt. complex just has one washer and one dryer and he doesn't like to do it there. It seems that I also clean best when I have people over OR when someone is here to watch me clean...weird, huh?

Hi Lee...and All,

Lee wanted a new chore...it's just been a chore for me to get all my school grading done lately!! ha...
I just work late, get home, and either bathe and plot into bed with the crossword, or watch TV.

I DID, however, TOTALLY empty my storage closet in the TV room and it took a FULL DAY to go through all the piles of junk and organize it. Threw away a huge lawn bag full of old picture negatives, etc. (wow...those will probably be collectors' items some day...haha), picture albums (took the pics out). AND, speaking of which...did y'all know that if your pics are in those albums where the pictures STICK to a page and then you replace a sheet of clear plastic over them...that most of them cannot be safely removed??? I will never use those albums again unless I want them there untill Kingdom Come!!

Today I'm doing laundry and organizing my closet...taking summer clothes out and bringing winter ones out again.

Hello all!

Wow do you people have energy!
I have so many junk holes and corners ,I feel like I live in a round house!hahah

The 30 min idea is great ! Iam going to tell my hubby about this -as a reminder to at least leave me alone for that length of time , to try and get something done.
He's sweet but no matter what I'm doing he "needs me" .
Later complains "why haven't you gotten any thing done?'

So I am going to go up stairs right now and clean the bathroom.
It's a start -here's hoping ...

Hi, Petal!

Wow...I had forgotten about this thing! My house is TOTALLY torn up now with remodeling, so I'm going to be cleaning 'round the clock' when it's finished until I get it done!

I know exactly what you mean by the DH needing something all the time! If mine says he's going to clean something or fix something, I MIGHT AS WELL do it myself as I have to "fetch this, find that...hand him something else..." haha
