Kim, I've been up and down and looked at every one of them a couple of times. Each one is wonderful. I think this is my favorite, but I may change my mind in a couple of minutes. Maybe the reason you can't make watercolor work for you is the wonderful weight and depth you put into your paintings. That's tough to duplicate with watercolor. The light in each one on the snow and the trees is exquisite. And I do love the old buildings, too, mills, covered bridges, cabins.

Glad to hear you're painting again. This talent should not be wasted.

No, gram, you won't change your mind. This one absolutely is THE BEST!! I would love to see that one in real life. It's outstanding, Kim!

Thanks for everything you guys really are encouraging. That is hat every artist needs to grow and develop. You may be right about the watercolors, maybe that is what my problem is.

You are good, just TOO GOOD! I love when an artist can paint realistically. It was always my downfall in art class...I tried so hard to get it right but I'm best at making up an image...which I don't appreciate near as much, because I know the effort that goes into painting something realistic.

Well done!

Do you offer classes in your area? Are you self-taught?

I was just scrolling down to see if I had missed seeing anything in the 'Art Department', and this one grabs me and pulls me in every time.

Kim, Nancy was right, I have NOT changed my mind. this one is exquisite.

Thanks everyone, especially for taking the time to write such encouraging words. Now if I could only sell some. See my husband has some crazy idea that this is all I should do because he thinks that I am good enough to sell them. Well to tell you the truth he has spent quite a few days posting pictures on art sites to sell and they don't quite think the same of them that you guys do. So if it wasn't for all of you I would probably be burning my brushes. Thanks again, you all are truly great people and I am glad that I am having the pleasure of getting to know all of you. I hope you can forgive me for not being here for a while I have been sick, so I am just getting back on my feet. Thanks again, scarlet

Like anything else, you just have to find the right buyer. There's one out there.

Scarlet, I'm so sorry you have been ill. Hope you are
completely recovered.

Do not be discouraged. Nap is right - it is only a matter
of time and the right buyer. It is a problem common to
all artists.

Take a look at some of Van Gogh's letters to his brother, Theo:

Also, have you tried eBay? There is a group on eBay who call
themselves Self Representing Artists. That may be a good
place to start. Perservere. Your day will come.

That was so interesting, Mahnot. I'm going to print it out to show my son. Though he has earned money for his pictures, the time he spends and the price he charges, make him truly a 'starving artist'. Like Van Gogh.
