I've gotten over the fright. So now I've gone berserk. Taking apart old Malibu (or whatever brand low voltage)fixtures and whittling down the guts to fit where I want then wire nutting back into the string. I never did use the connectors that came with them because these were donated to me from someone who replaced their whole yard with new lights and there were a couple different brands thrown in a garbage bag so none of the connectors fit together. These old plastic ones worked great because I can make them fit into glass globes or bottles or anything hollow and translucent. But I'm running out and need a source. I'd love to find just the fixture. I looked in Home Depot and Lowe's but they have nothing but bulbs and other connectivity parts. Can I buy just the fixture bare bones and if so does anyone know where ?

Try calling 815-675-7000. It's the number for replacement parts for Intermatic, the manufacturer of Malibu lights. I never would have guessed they'd be so hard to find, but they sure are!!! They probably call it a bulb socket or bulb base, with "pigtail" leads.

Thank you clapa ! Bulb base...pigtail leads. yeah... that sounds much more technical and professional than guts. LOL I tried to think of what that part would be called. I googled all sorts of things and there were zillions of pages and none I waded thru were what I was looking for.I thought maybe they were so cheap (the old plastic kind) that they were kinda disposable. Just to buy new instead of getting parts for them. Or maybe that is what they want. I keep hoping the thrift stores will have a bag of them come thru.

I bet landscapers rip out old ones all the time, and maybe garage sales, probably most people do toss 'em. Somebody, somewhere must sell them though
