Another African genus.
This one actually flowered in spring but I just dug the pic up. It has a tall, spiny petiole holding an unusual, Amorphophallus-like solitary leaf, (usually more wedge shaped though). It is one that is relatively close to the genus Nephthytis although I have no idea how the experts group these things.
