Gotta love those furbabies, eh? I thought cats were not supposed to like the feel of leather and thus stay off of it? Oh well. I can't blame them. I picked the furniture AND the cats. But what do you recommend for small scratches they've left? I tried looking for shoe polish (will this rub off on clothes?) but couldn't find anything in a dark burgundy same as the couch. I also have a dark brown leather set and noticed sure enough a nice fresh scratch on that one today.
One cat has a frontal declaw but sure likes to dig his back claws into things...his "sister" has all her claws but is very careful not to have them sticking out...and is very gentle. So I still can't decide who's the culprit. =)
Cordovan shoes are not as popular as they used to be, so it's hard to find that colour polish. That's ok, though, because it would rub off on clothes.
What you need is leather dye. I but it, when I buy it, which isn't often, at a tack shop, although I am sure there are other places that might carry it.
You can apply it with a q-tip or something.
Edited because I obviously had not had enough coffee this morning and posted rot.
thanks for the info on Leathermagic! I have a very large leather sectional that WAS cream colored when it was new (15 yrs ago). Add some kitty scratches to it.
We were ready to toss it.
Received my Leathermagic kit (after sending in sample to match).
The results are amazing...it looks like a NEW piece of furniture.
Word of warning...this takes lots of time! It took me this whole last weekend.
