My 3 yr old poured out a bottle of oil on my linoleum and basically took a bath in it..lol. (It really wasnt funny at the time.) Anyway, he and I have tracked oil onto the carpeted area. Its hard to tell just where it is and theres no stains, but the carpet feels a bit greasy to the touch. Anything I can do? I saw the thread where the oil was in a certain spot, but its hard to tell just where all mine it as it is just a light layer on the carpet...
I would try water plus some dish soap like Dawn--it's really good at cutting grease, you'll just need to make sure you rinse the carpet in that area REALLY well afterwards.
Our dog rolled in motor oil a few years ago, and we used Dawn on her...did a great job, and in only one washing. I think it would help the carpet also...and doesn't damage the fibers.
