This is not Encephalartos horridus... looks more like E lehmanii or maybe an very atypical E trispinosus.

I took this photo at University of California at Berkeley Botanical Garden. I am planning another visit soon and will have to see if I erred or if they have it mismarked. They also had E. trispinosus and E. lehmanii in the same grouping so I wonder if I took them out of order so had the wrong tag to the wrong photo.

Here was their E. trispinosus.

Here's a typical E horridus... note the classic leaf shape

Kell, palmbob recently caught a palm error on one of mine as well, it was mislabeled at UC Berkeley so that could be the case for you as well, not your error.

So funny, I was just talking to PalmBob on my other picture thread where I posted another pic under this name and I told him the converstion was vaguely similar. LOL. And today I find this thread. So we had dicussed it!! I have 93 thread in my thread watcher so I often do not catch new ones. I just can't keep up.

From what Palmbob said on my other thread and from my pic of the tag Peggy, can you move these over to E. lehmanii for me. Thanks

Hi Pretty Sue, I bet it is me. But you never know. I am pretty strict how I take pics of the subject and the name tag just so I do not screw it up but that doesn't mean I didn't. LOL I was supposed to go back I see but still haven't. I just renewed my membership there last month and really could use a trip back. I love where it is up in the hills. I haven't heard from Marilyn in awhile. I hope she is OK, have you heard from her or seen her around Dave's?

Nope I haven't either, of course I don't check the cactus forum where she would most likely be.

93??? I only post to a few and often check the Unwatch Thread if it becomes too many. I only have 15 selected for my home page and even then, only check maybe 1/2 of them on a regular basis so it's easy to eliminate some.

Thank you, Pegy!!

I emailed Marilyn. I hope I hear from her. She had a sad 2007 with a best friend dying and a dog she loved died too.

I really should just go thru and open and close them to get rid of them but I am so afriad I will miss something. What, I am not sure. LOL

You post on so many threads Sue, don't you automatically get them on your home page when someone posts on them after you do? On mine, I have threads months old that I haven't looked at. I am so pathetic.

Orangutan Island is on, so I must switch computers. LOL

I do get many but I don't post on a lot of threads, just many posts on a few threads. I try to do more lurking and reading, if I comment too often, I would have the same problem as you.
Poor palmbob and Peggy should quickly unwatch this thread as we again go off topic in PF! LOL

I am the off topic gal. It just happens with my big mouth. Well Marilyn has not emailed back so I am going to search for her on here. If you see her tell me, please.

Here I thought you were on many threads. I do not post much anymore, I just can't keep up and do PlantFiles too.
