Finally getting around to taking pictures of my first attempts last month. Looking for advice, suggestions from all you experts :)
First, there were three of us involved in this project and we had to mix alot of cement since we were all making 2-3 pieces - mixing isn't as easy as it looks! We used straight Portland cement (white), no additives. On some of the larger pieces (leaves 2' wide), hardware cloth was used to make them stronger. I still have work to do on these before painting (sanding edges, etc), but here's my first attempt - Hosta leaf, about 15" tall - I attached a wire hanger just in case I want to hang it, but wishing I had mounded up the sand more so I could use it to place in Hosta bed to collect water.
