I am contemplating buying a machine to keep at home. If you have one please LMK if you really like yours.
Thanks,

I love my Hoover. It's an older version of the one they make now; but it works wonders on my off-white carpets. I used to own a Dirt devil version that broke after only a few uses; but it had one feature, an ability to spray clean water, that I'm certain helped get the carpets especially clean. So I improvise with the Hoover to get the same effect. After each tank full of soapy water goes down, I follow-up with a tank of clean water on the same area to get any shampoo residue out. Since soaps will draw grime to them, the carpet now stays cleaner for months; where they used to look dingy just a few months afte shampooing.

The Hoover's suction power pulls almost all of the water out of the carpet; so drying time is minimal. The attachments work well for vertical surfaces, like stair fronts, although it does take just a little elbow grease to mimic the results of the powered brushes. There's also a squeegie for hard floors and you can use it for upholstery and car interiors. My only complaint is that the dirty water tank is a little cumbersome to remove and open and has too many nooks and crannies to hold solids that settle into it. So it actually needs a couple of rinses each time it's emptied. I've had this one for 6 years and would definitely buy another.
