Has anyone bought and used the Swivel Sweeper that is shown on the commercials on TV? I am wondering how it really works.

I've not sure the sweeper I have is the same as what you saw on TV, but it's probably similiar. It is handy and easy to use for quick pickups of light surface lint and dust. The swivel feature is kinda fun! But the brush and catch-tray don't hold much (at least not for my place!) and the battery charge is usually down when I want to use it. For a quick once-over every day it's so-so okay. Yuska

We bought one and it worked about four months.the battery will not hold a charge long.So it has been retired and I replaced it with a Dirt Devil Dynamite upright. It works on all surfaces and it picks up cat litter...I can do everything with it I could with the swivel sweeper and more.Love it.

I saw one called a Shark. It was really heavy duty and was being used in a public facility. I was so impressed I had to get up and go see what kind it was while the lady was using it.

Another lady noticed my interest and said she had one just like it made by Dirt Devil. Is that the one you have called the Dynamite ? It was cordless and looked easy to use. I'd kind of like to get one if they're really any good.

I have a Swivel Sweeper (I got it at CVS). I also have a cordless Bissel wet dry vac with a Swiffer-like attachment and an array of Swiffer products.

The Swivel Sweeper worked the best on my laminate floors and throw rugs (in between real vacuuming), but like someone else said it's only lasted about 4 months. It now refuses to do rugs and conks out before I'm done with the floors.

When it was working it was wonderful. It picked up a surprizing amount of stuff, including cat litter (but it would spit out feathers.) I cleaned it frequently and kept it charged but it still pooped out. I think they're a little pricey at around $40.00 to keep replacing every 4 months.

The Bissel works pretty well on the floors, but it's not made for rugs. I'll have to check out the Dirt Devil mentioned above.

I have had mine for about a year now. I use it on my hardwood floors, laminate floor, and bathroom floor where the litter pan is. I find it works best in the bathroom on the cat litter. It has never worked well on any of my rugs, I really dont believe the swivel sweeper is good for that kind of use.

As far as people who have trouble with them holding a charge, I have never plugged mine in to recharge until it was completely dead. It holds the charge now as long as it did from day 1. I dont know where I heard this, but often, things that are rechargeable shouldnt be plugged in till they are totally dead. Otherwise they will only hold the charge for the least amount of time that it had recharged in the future-basically-it loses some of the recharge time. I have had my rechargeable camera batteries for about 5 years, and they are still going strong, and so is the swivel sweeper-as is my laptop and everything else I dont recharge until absolutely necessary.

Thank you for the info on the Swivel Sweeper. After reading what some of you had to say, I decided to go in another direction.
