| I have dug out more of my watercolors. This first one is of a point of land at Raquette Lake in the Fulton Chain in the Adirondack Mtns in NY known as Cunningham's Point. Art Cunningham was a dear friend of my grandfather's and Grandaddy built a camp on the point in the 30's. we spent many happy summer vacations there. it has since been deeded back to NY state with the provision that it be kept 'forever wild'. so, although this may not be a great piece of art, it holds a special meaning to me. the Cunningham's camp was at the end of the point, and their boathouse, although not visible in the painting, is just beyond the pines.
ps I was always very jealous of my older brother because he could jump the rocks in the front and go out and sit on the far one and I was chicken to try LOL

| This one has just been framed (early xmas gift from DH) and is now hanging over our mantel. We moved into this house (new build) 4 yrs ago and have been searching for the right piece to hang here ever since. I guess we've found it! Click the image for an enlarged view.

| I hope I remember to get a better pic of this one later. It's a xmas gift for my DIL. I had all these paintings out and she went nuts when saw then. can't imagine how flattered I was. so I had her favorite framed. it's a Buffalo, NY skyline, city hall in the center
edit to add: it's still wrapped in plastic from the framer's (in case you couldn't tell LOL) and I'm afraid to unwrap it

| this last one is a bit comical, my only attempt at a warm-blooded subject. I debated whether to show it or not, but we're all friends here (right?) anyway, these were my dear kitties, Tigger (l) and Rosie (r). I got Rosie when she was only 5 wks old and too little to leave her mommie. she used to suck on my bathrobe when she was a tiny little thing. she had a litter before we had her spayed. Tigger was one of a pair of twins from that litter. He was really my son's cat. DS used to walk around the house with that cat draped around his shoulders and the cat never budged. they died within 6 mos. of each other when Rosie was 18 and Tigger 17. so this is pretty dear to me, too, even though the eyes are just a little creepy.
hope you enjoyed the show

| Gram, how wonderful these paintings are! Yes, I surely do recognize the Forest Lawn pictures, and the Adirondack painting would be perfect in my living room! The cat picture is not at all creepy. I was afraid to look at the enlargment when I read your comment, but was delighted to see that you were wrong! It's a very good cat picture! |

| Gram, having lived in Indian Lake and Old Forge for a combined 18 years, it was a real treat to see the painting of Raquette Lake. It's lovely.
Also really admire the mirror lake one -- you are truly an artist and am glad to hear you will be painting again this winter.

| Blooms, it really is a small world. Art Cunningham, for many years, had the photo shop in the Enchanted Forest in Old Forge. Of course, that would be in the 50's and maybe earlier, I'm not sure. The point is between Golden Beach and Silver Beach at Raquette. I can smell the pine woods just thinking about it.
thanks, everyone for the kind remarks. it's very encouraging and does make me want to 'do it again'

It is 3.30 am EADT,
To dark to water the garden, to early to warm up the brushes so I thought

| hi, Ginger. thanks for looking :0) just trying to let folks know that it's me, the 'gram' half of 'grampapa'. in order to avoid being called being called 'gramps', I had to add ~a girl~. can't blame anyone. I picked a pretty ambiguous username LOL. thanks again. |

| Grams,
I don't know why you would hesitate to show your cats. They are wonderful. I know I am super critical if I paint someone or something ( esp one of my pets) I know. I want to capture the essence of the subject "just right".

| gram, Wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
PS. My cat Tammy sucks her tail, she was a stray and very young when we got her. She is 9 years old now and the end of her tail is constantly wet. |

| gram,
She was very young when our dog brought her home along with 2 siblings. He was mourning the loss of his cat and brought the three little ones home. We kept two of them and found a home for the third. |

What a great story zenpotter
I can see why they are so special to you.
We dont keep cats here.
They would scare the wildlife away and
Dingoes would get them. |

| What a shame.
We never let our cats outside. They scare the wildlife away, plus we have eagles that like cat meat. |
