SOLVED: Woody Shrub growing in NYC

Kerhonkson, NY(Zone 5a)

This woody shrub is growing in a NYC garden -- it has small white flowers over a long period of time in the summer ... nice fall color too ... anyone know what it is? Here are the seed pods (picture taken in November) ...

Here's a picture of the nice fall color -- it's about 3-4 feet high ...

dwarf crape myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica) of some sort.

Scott County, KY(Zone 5b)

I'm pretty sure you've got a Lagerstroemia, crape myrtle, illustrated there. That's not quite the normal form for the plant, but the opposite colorful foliage and seed heads are a giveaway.

Thanks for the ID -- I'm sad I can't grow this in my zone 5a garden ... it's a super plant in many ways ...
