Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I've shown this one here before? This holiday reminded me of this one and I thought I'd share it with ya'll.

This was a painting I donated to a young lady that was in need of a major organ transplant. The fund raiser was right around Thanksgiving several years ago, so I thought that was an appropriate title for the painting. It was a fun event with lots of celebrities and wonderful contributions from many famous people, like George Straight and the San Antonio Spurs players - just to name a couple.

It was one of my earlier works in watercolor and I was still learning and experimenting at the time. As with many pictures of paintings, the photo don't do the colors justice, there you have it.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving :)

Great painting GD!! And a very appropriate name for it too.

P.S. Did you actually meet George Strait? That would be a dream come true for me.

this one's wonderful, too, GD. especially if it's from when you just started with watercolor. you obviously had a natural feel for it. and your kind heart is showing again :0)

I had a terrific day today. Hope you did too.

Thanks ya'll :)

Yeah I had a pretty nice Turkey Day . . . gotta love Mom's home cook'n ;) :D

No Pepper, I didn't get to meet George at that event, but I've met him before at a rodeo down here. He puts on a big rope'n every year and my brother usually ropes in it. Plus George goes to several other ropings that my brother goes to. I used to help my cousin flim lots of them for his photography/video biz.

Here's a couple of photos I took at the fund raiser that show several of the other items that were up for bid.

This one shows the local news crew's cameraman. They were covering the event since there were several celebs there. You can see my painting there in the background. It was lots of fun and a pretty well publicized and there were lots of people there all decked out in their fancy duds :D

Glad to hear you enjoyed dinner. It was pretty quiet here. The boys (my bros) didn't cause as much trouble as they usually do. LOL.

You betcha!!!!!! I have lots of horse items as it is but one can never have too many. I also have collector plates done by Suzie Morton. And a Seabiscuit clock she also did. I have sculptures, prints, pics, a hitch cover, books, clothes, furniture, wall hangings, and some other items too that all have horses on them. All crammed in an itty bitty house. LOL. I just don't own an actual horse. That really stinks. lol
