Thanks for you comments everyone. This is a signature piece of mine. I start by randomly putting blotches of alizarin crimson, pthalo blue, and yellow oxide on the canvas. It just looks like a big mess at this point. I stand and look at the canvas and find flowers. I guess it's like finding images in clouds. I often tell people I just wait for the flowers to show up. Sometimes it's a very fast process, and other times it may take several sessions.
