I moved all my paint outside to my shed this summer when I was remodeling my mudroom. Yep, I forgot to bring it back in and it froze. Since I live in the desert and this paint is at my summer home, it just did not occur to me I needed to bring it back in. Soooooo, have I lost the paint? I also have some Venitian plaster in that shed and some primer. Is it gone too?
It might be okay... I've had paint freeze and still used it. It might not have the same gloss characteristics, and the color might be different. I googled 'frozen paint', and it said to let it thaw, open the can and stir it. If it looks like paint and not cottage cheese, it's usable.
Thanks, I will certainly try your suggestion. I also heard that the paint loses it's scrubability after being frozen. I was thinking for the primer it would not be as big of deal as it is for the actual color coats. I will try it on some scraps of plastered sheet rock and see how it comes out.
