Yesterday a friend of ours called to say they had the bulldozer out and were ready for me to come pick up some of the bamboo, if I still wanted it.
Of course I still wanted it. I have to get some kind of privacy screen growing between myself and my neighbors. So I hightailed it over there after work yesterday and got a van load of canes with roots. They are quite tall so we cut the tops ( certainly the longest parts) off and tied them to the roof of the van.
I plan on planting the root parts. The question for today, if anyone knows, what is the best way to dry the canes so I can use them for various purposes. i.e. wind chimes, tripod trellises, cane fencing, or whatever.
I will be doing another van load later today so will have lots and lots.
