Looks like a Dark Eyed Junco to me, although I don't get them here we only have Slate Colored Juncos.

See, I just keep hoping for something new (lol), I have seen a cowbird before but it was molting and looked very different.

Glad you got your ID, sorry it was a cowbird. Could have been worse I suppose.
