Where to Eat in: States/Provinces/Countries beginning with G

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

This is a continuation of a fun thread in the Recipes forum. (see http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/681577/)

Post below with your favorite places to eat, and I'll try to keep them indexed up here. If your state/province/country isn't on the list yet, put it down anyway and I'll be happy to add it!

GEORGIA
Alpharetta
Ippolito's Italian Restaurant - Great food - big portions!
Killer Creek Chop House - Awesome steaks and a good wine list. Great service - nice ambience.
The Meal House - Real Home cookin' - it is an old house and you are invited to "just find a table an' sit youself down - we'll be there in a minute". You will eat to much, but by all means - order a dessert - it is worth the pain of overstuffing! They are open for breakfast, too.
Taco Mac - Lot's more than tacos, here - good local beers, wings, etc.

Atlanta
Ruth's Chris Steak House; 267 Marietta St NW, Atlanta, GA 30313, (404) 223-6500

Augusta
Bistro 491 at the Surrey Center
Bonefish Grill (chain by the same people as Outback Steakhouse)

Blairsville (North Georgia Mountains)
Comfort Cafe They make all their food fresh everyday. Home made mac n cheese, great salads, pies, comfort desserts. They use real food, not corporate ingredients frozen from a box off the back of a truck.

Brunswick
Jinright's Seafood House

Savannah
Candy Kitchen (Try the pralines.)

Social Circle
The Blue Willow - Good old Southern Food in an old mansion:
Sycamore Street Grill - best wings I've ever had

Suwannee
Mori House - Excellent Sushi

GERMANY

Kallstadt
Weingut Otto Georg Breivogel; Freinsheimer Straße, 67169 Kallstadt
Telefon (063 22) 15 64
This vineyard/winery has an excellent white tablecloth restaurant attached. The regional fare is stellar and ample. Flavorful soups, colorful salads, and scrumptious entrées will balance the incredible array of wines produced here. We have an unbroken record of satisfaction dating back twenty years.
Weinkastell Zum Weissen Ross; Weinstraße 80-82, 67169 Kallstadt
Telefon (063 22) 5033
This restaurant is at the high end of the price range, but you will not find better food in a cozier establishment and presented in finer style (whether you look like lost tourists or like a bank president). Again, regional German favorites are served and paired with well-made German wines. This is a great place to celebrate important life milestones.

Roswell.. Greenwood's on Green Street.. Real Southern "stick to your ribs" delicious food. NO CREDIT CARDS!! Checks and cash only. Mr. Greenwood keeps all of his grey water and uses it for the wonderful garden on property.. The restaurant is an old home redone. The food is amazingly good and everything is so fresh. One pie portion is enough for the table to share..if you have room for desert. They don't own a microwave so don't ask them to nuke your pie.. as a fellow dinner asked and was turned down. I love that little county place. He use to have a list of rules for dinners on the back on his menu.. :))...but everyone is very friendly... Fri & Sat evening is a standing wait and they take a few weeks each year for vacation so we always call first.

Try The Comfort Cafe if you're ever in the North Georgia Mountains, it's located just off the square in Blairsville. They make all their food fresh everyday. Home made mac n cheese, great salads, pies, comfort desserts. They use real food, not corporate ingredients frozen from a box off the back of a truck.

Macon, GA

Try Ole Times in Macon,Warner Robins, Dublin,Waycross, Valdosta, and Lake City Fl. Chicken, fish, roast, all sorts of veggies, taters, rice with all sorts of desserts and salads. The one in Macon is best, Dublins has a horrible dessert and salad bar. Oh and Tallahasse. Marvin

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

Went to Savannah over Thanksgiving and the Olde Pink House is a must as well as Paula Deen's A Lady and Sons. For a wonderful Sunday brunch try the Aqua Star in the Westin Resort.
