Post below with your favorite places to eat, and I'll try to keep them indexed up here. If your state/province/country isn't on the list yet, put it down anyway and I'll be happy to add it!
OHIO Newark Christy's Pizza: Family-owned place with a wonderful semi-sweet sauce, slices of cheese, and reasonable prices. Miller's Essenplatz: http://millersessenplatz.com/ - Mennonite-owned with delicious hearty meals. Their broasted chicken is excellent!
OKLAHOMA Broken Arrow Billy Simms BBQ The best we've ever eaten.
Oklahoma City Leo's BBQ (Former garage, and smoke-filled (from the BBQ), but simply delish - get the cake! Yellow with fresh strawberry filling and topped with a glaze, served warm. Order it first. If you wait until you're through eating, it will be gone.)
Tulsa Billy Simms BBQ , at the "Farm Shopping Center." The best we've ever eaten. Diamond Jacks (Try the French dip sandwich or the Reuban Sandwich.) Spaghetti Warehouse (though the service is not always good)
ONTARIO
Lambeth George's Family Restaurant - Good old fashioned family fare, Highway 2

OREGON Silverton Chan's Restaurant; very reasonable and the best Chinese going.

Miller's Essenplatz: http://millersessenplatz.com - Mennonite-owned with delicious hearty meals. Their broasted chicken is excellent! Update 10/2007: I will say, they've gone to a cheaper bread recipe and the bread is now lightweight instead of that delicious, dense bread.
The Grill on 21st Street: They have *great* ribs. They offer large portions on their entrees and their mini sandwich platters (4 mini sandwiches) you could easily split with a someone since they come with a lot of fries. There's nothing really healthy on their menu, but it's all tasty. Try the Margaritaville Pizza, which has pineapple and prosciutto and is sprinkled with cinnamon. It's a delicious change.
Oklahoma:: Tulsa my daughter has ate here says good always packed people standing to wait for place. Spaegetti warehouse. and
Diamond Jacks - french dip sandwich.. Rueban Sandwich.
edited my daughters up there eating trying to they forgot her order had to wait for ever.now all waiting on boxes to take rest with them.service is terrible then at s. warehouse but packed.
Bistro Seven Seven in ALLISTON: Only open evenings. Great food, imaginative and tasty!
Three restaurants on the Broadway in ORANGEVILLE, all open for lunch:
Temptations - good value, friendly atmosphere, everyday food.
The White Truffle - a bit more expensive, some adventurous items on the menu.
One 99 - hugely expensive, tiny portions of food so delicious that you will consider taking out a mortgage to eat there regularly.
Akina - all you can eat sushi (cheaper than most all-you can eat sushi buffets + great food)
Bombay Bell - Yonge and Sheppard
Korean BBQ Grill - Finch and Midland
Mi Pueblo - Weston and Sheppard (great pupusas, salsas and tacos - nothing like taco bell =D, authentic El Salvadorian food)
EVENTS:
SUMMERLICIOUS - I think this just passed...but you get deals from top restaurants that would usually sell these food items from their menus at $20 +.
TASTE OF DANFORTH - Greek/med. food occupying 2 blocks of Bloor. Nowadays they also have Chinese, Japanese and other cuisines selling on the streets.
CARRIBANA - Haven't been to one, but they sell alot of curries and stews, which looks yummy on TV.
If you're looking for varieties, ethnic dishes, Toronto offers alot of these. From Indian cuisine to Asian, to European...specially when you go to Spadina/Kensington area. I love it there! They sell tropical fruits like cherimoya, sugar apple, jackfruits, lycheess...too bad it takes me 2 hours to get there and nudge my way through the crowded train/streetcar.
the name of the restaurant is "three restaurant?" what's the main intersection? mom often goes to orangeville, nice place. I want to visit there again but I have nothing to do...so maybe I'll go check the restaurant out next week.
Be prepared to line stand in line every night for huge platters of home-style cooking, mile high strawberry pies & Chocolate Cake. Open for lunch too but count on standing in line after about 4 pm. Roast beef dinner, Roast Turkey Dinner, soup, salad or juice, choice of potatoes, veggies, roll. Huge menu. Local landmark.
Hungarian home cooking. Owners/chefs take great pride in their home cooked lunch/dinners. Hungarian Goulash, Perogies (meat & potatoe), Schnitzel, Borscht. Fabulous !!!!
