How do you know that's what these are? They sure look like P dactyliferas.

this is at my dad's office and he asked the landscape architect for the plantation what they were and if i was right and we were told that i was correct. i will try to get a better picture of the leaves to show that they are more plumose than dactyliferas and the bottom of their leaves is a more silvery blue. also there are roots that come from above the soil from the base of the trunk and grow into the soil. Also i have looked at the leaves of a smaller dactylifera and they seemed to me to be quite different. phoenix sylvestris is much more common here in this humid subtropical climate than dactlyifera or canariensis because they tolerate humidity better. the canariensis and the dactylifera are more common on or near the beach than farther inland because the sand is much drier there than inland swamps that are usually filled in to make neighborhoods. also, the sea breeze makes it seem less humid.
