'Fess up now. How many projects are you working on at this time? Not counting the ones thrown in the bottom of a box or the back of the closet. Those don't count. LOL
I have 2 pair of socks, a toddler sweater, two sweaters for me and a charity scarf in the works. I really, truly, honestly am working on all these.

I've what I consider to be my dream part time job, I test knit patterns for a yarn company. They provide me with the materials and needles, and I get to create different beautiful things, some stuff I would never otherwise even consider making, lol. I'm learning new techniques with every pattern, and using some unusuall yarns too.

What I love about this is that I have deadlines to meet. (otherwise I end up having 7,598 projects going at once) lol. I'm usually able to turn the projects around in a week. I've done socks,(lots of socks!) wraps, sweaters, skirts, and camisoles...

So, currently I have a child's blanket started, working on it between projects (intended as my great-nephew's shower gift, he's turning 3, lol) and will start my next project for the yarn company this afternoon.

Then there's always the furniture refinishing projects, gardening projects...

I'm working on a felted tote bag, a pair of socks (one sock done), a hat for my grandgirl, and two scarves. Some things are easier to take to work than others, some things are perfect for some "long-term" kntting while watching tv, and some are great for those times when you really want a challenge. It keeps everything fresh! (Or at least that's my rationale, and so far it's working.)

I'm working on a scarf for me, a double-knitted hat for a friend and starting a spiral design sweater for me! I get bored working on the same thing all the time. Variety is the spice...right?

I have been trying to make a boggin but they come out too big or too small, one looks like a tam, maybe I should lay it down for a while and try something else. I have ordered the 'Happy Hooker Crochet' book maybe that will help me with my projects.

great list of projects! I'm still finishing my college daughter's socks- a hat for dh, and a hat that was for my 2nd daughter that is turning out too small, cause it's a slip stich pattern that shrinks up way more than i thought- so it might be for my grand niece! drivenbonkers- that's an amazing job! so they send you patterns, or do you make them up?? how bout some pictures?...i know, it's hard to get to... my next project is some kind of modular knitting thing- it looks like such a fun technique.

I am working on an afghan for my DH, and just finished a snood for myself. The snood was actually a doily pattern.

sjms, they sent me the patterns. It's the written patterns I'm testing (to be sure the instructions actually make up what the designers have designed, lol)

Making progress- sorta... Finished one scarf, started another. Finished the toddler sweater. Made a Chemo cap. one sock of each of the two pairs is finished. One of my sweaters is ready to be put together. The scarves are a project of my Knitting Guild, we made 100 pink ones in October and still we knit. They're for cancer patients at our Hospital, kind of a cheer up gift. Scarves are the perfect project to work on during long & tedious car trips. (No brainers)

pjank46--What's a boggin? Can you share a link or a photo?

grannymarsh--boggin is what we called stocking caps. You know the knitted or crocheted type sometimes with a ball on top. I think somewhere in the world they are called toboggin caps, but don't quote me on that.

Here's a pic of my cap...Don't laugh The colors are blue and white with a yellow flower. Scanning with the lid not quite closed caused the colors to come out different.

http://www.free-crochet-pattern.com/ Try this site. You wouldn't believe me if I told you how long it been since I made those roses. My late husband was still living, and he's been gone 10 yrs now. You know some pack rats never throw anything away.
I still have a sack ful ot them, Donnie's mom gave me a 55-gal drum (I'm not kidding) of yarn. There are some roses in her stuff, I may use mine and her's and make another blanket..

Driven - do you get to keep all the stuff you "test" for that company? Sounds like a great part-time job if you do.

Nice cap above. I did an afghan http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/680064/ which has sort of a flower in the middle. Could maybe be adapted to be similar to the one above.

Current projects - well I've got to sew a flower girl dress for Granddaughter to wear at daughter #2's wedding on March 10. Just (last night) finished a shawl for me to wear at the same event. My dress is at a dress maker's. Have a large box of left over and reject wool from the two afghans done before Christmas and have been turning out mittens for grand kids and charity. Also want to make more Santa Claus mits for the church bazaar next year. The same granddaughter has a couple of little doll cradles for which I've knitted blankets, but they need pieces of foam covered for mattresses and fiberfill for pillows. And finally (well probably not really), I made my daughter a large rag doll when she was young. Granddaughter now has the doll and until Christmas the doll didn't have any clothes. We found a few outfits in a box that was in storage, but I've discussed with granddaughter making some more clothes for this doll. Have lost the pattern but having found a few outfits should make recreating it easier. I guess I've got enough to keep myself occupied for awhile.

ViolaAnn, they pay me to knit the patterns, so I don't get to keep the finished products. :(

The finished stuff goes to be shown at trade shows, photographed for their catalogues and/or in the stores for display.

I've learned quite a bit knitting with them, and throughly enjoy it.

See picture of DGD trying on the flower girl dress last week. Still have a bit of finishing to do.

The shawl is done. Don't have a picture, but will after the wedding.

Finishing up a couple of pairs of mittens and will hold on to them for the Snow Suuit Fund next year.

Haven't done any more Santa mitts.

Made two balnkets for the cradles and covered the foam. Made little pillows out of fibrefill. Made a pillow case for the one at DGD's house, but not for the one at our house yet.

No doll clothes made yet.

WooHoo Ann. That is a sweet dress on a lovely little girl. Is she all excited about being dressed up like a big girl?

I've finished the socks mentioned in my first post, plus finished another pair and am working on two more pairs. The adult sweaters for me are exactly in the same state as in January. The toddler sweater was finished and given to a grandaughter. The charity scarves (8 in all) have been donated and I've finished 4 chemo hats. whew, that was fun.
Just for giggles, I've been sewing doll clothes for an 18" doll (a knock off of the American Girl doll). These are waaaay more fun to make than the dreaded Barbie doll clothes.

I have a pic of the doll that I made for DD#2 (who is getting married next week). I have no idea what happened to the doll. Same pattern as Fifi who was made for DD#1 and is now loved by DGD. I came across this pic when I was scanning pictures of DD#2 for use at the wedding.Oviously the doll wasn't quite finished when this picture was taken of DD on her 3rd birthday. Oh how I wish I still had the pattern. But the clothes for this doll can be fun to make too.

Omigosh. One reason my yard is such a disgrace is that I became a pathological knitter last year. Once it got hot and the mosquitoes took over, it was just so much nicer to stay inside and knit. Every time I turn a sock heel, I feel like a cotton-picking genius. Every time I knock back the privet, it just comes back twice as lush. And don't even bring up the potato vine. Where's the gratification? Found this site yesterday morning, a treasure trove of horticultural wisdom, expertise and entertainment. Was terrifically inspired to make a work plan for this year, and really get the place under control once and for all. And here I find you knitters, luring me back into the yarn vortex.

How many projects in progress right now? For me, it's exactly like books--several at any one time. Something that makes me fret and work; something that's simple and calming (and can be done while sipping adult beverages, or yakking, or both, without having to back up and re-do 3/4 of it the next day); something portable (small enough to tuck in purse and okay to stop-and-start without any marking or counting). At the moment: about halfway through a sweater in beaded rib; the second sock in my 5th or 6th pair in 9 months--finally OD'd on the sport weight yarn and #3 needles, bogged down only inches from the toe (which is the finish line, I knit socks from the top down); an afghan knitted on #19 needles with super-chunky yarn--antidote to the sock yarn & #3s--that is still sitting there (since before Christmas) waiting for me to learn how to crochet the panels together. The sock comes out occasionally, when I need to take my purse somewhere (instead of tucking phone & wallet into my knitting tote). A "beret" I knitted three times over a weekend in January that still could be a cozy for a VW--not going to do it again until I diagnose the prob. And a baby bootie that's been languishing on the needles long enough that baby is now driving a car. And a felting experiment that isn't quite successful yet.

New rule: no knitting during daylight hours until after first frost. Othewise, I'll need a baler instead of a lawn mower.

hmmm- its almost 1:30 AM- just finished a baby hat for a friends daughter's baby shower- pmgflowers- i sympathize- but the knitting only after dark runs into problems too!! sounds like you started some fun projects- i usually have about 5 going at once, though i really have been getting them done too- one thing that helps me is going to a knitting group thurs. eves- you know, everyone compares projects, and it keeps me on track a bit!
