I was looking around for info on planting our garden for wildlife and came upon this article written by a southern fellow who became hooked on birding. He then proceeded to 'enhance' for the birds 800 acres of property with some straightforward and simple management practices.

I thought the article might be of interest to those who care for property and are looking for ideas to create bird habitats on a large scale..

Ha, ha. Well, I noticed this guy just joined a hunting and nature club (I wonder if he's a nudist?) and probably got on the 'grounds' committee...

I think some of the info would be useful for anyone who is on their local parks board or a member of a golf club or a homeowners' association committee or a church or school that is on a lot of property.

So often those places are mowed to death when they could be providing a habitat for some of our wildlife.

For anyone interested, here's a comprehensive set of articles about Wildlife Management on large properties

There are lots of good ideas mentioned here, and if everyone can only adopt a few of them, it will make a difference in the long run.
