I followed this Great Egret around a pond, today, trying to get a good photo. Just lucky to snap the shot as he was taking off, to get far away from me. There is also a Little Blue Heron at this pond every day. It's too shy for me to get close enough to photograph. A challenge!
I saw your second photo first. And now I understand how you were able to get it. Luck! I've never had one stick around long enough to get a shot. It seems they can even see me when I look at them through binoculars.
