we are going to put a pellet stove in and we hear they run out often and most when you need them, plus they don`t store year to year.

I don't buy pellets, but every time I walk into my local OSH (which is once a week or every other week) there's a sign saying pellets coming soon, limit of 15 bags per person. But for this whole winter, the sign's always said coming soon, never they're here! Of course they may have gotten them in and just forgotten to take the sign down, but the fact that they limit quantities tells me they might be hard to find sometimes.

I am afraid of that, since they do not store well, it`s a good way to get hosed. They aren`t cheap.

Eh there Ecrane and Hellnzn,

I said in another post that I hate sounding like a propaganda master for them,
but I do know that Northland Distributing has LOADS of pellets.

I was just there yesterday picking up some parts from their warehouse so I know they couldn't have sold them all yet. Plus I think they have a hard time selling their pellets.
Their number is on their site.

thanks, we decided to not do the pellet thing since there was no good place to put a stove without demolishing my present 0 clearance FP or losing valued floor space. It`s warm here now for another 8 months, but thanks.

Ouh heck, if you already have a fireplace I'd just stick with that.
Pellet stoves always seemed to be less, what's the word... homey.
At least to me that is.

Okay okay, homeyness aside, I found some real nice modern looking
pellet stoves from Itay.

I would love to get one of those in my office. But I dreed thinking about the cost
of getting one of them shipped into Canada.
I have yet to find anyone selling them in North America.

That ) clearance is a fake fireplace that burns real wood but has no btu`s, barely heats one small room if blocked off. We are on Propane and God forbid we use the central heat.
