I live in Smyrna, and hope to keep bee's this year maybe. Anyone in Rutherford County that can help mentor or get me started?

Contact your local extension agent. I know there are beekeepers around your area, but don't know their names. My hus. is a beekeeper, but we live in Hardeman Co. which is in west TN. Good luck with your beekeeping. My hus. really enjoys it. LIZ

Thanks Liz. Williamson County has a class March 2-3, and the Nashville Club has a class March 15-17.

Glad you found help. My hus. was at a bee meeting several wks. ago in Jackson, TN. He gave a talk on how to figure your taxes if you are a beekeeper and sell your products. LIZ

Rutherford county has a beekeepers group. It is called Rutherford Country Beekeepers Association. We meet on the first Monday of every month at 7PM in the Agriculture building that is located on the frontage road of I-24 between Sam's and exit 78. It is next door to the SPCA building. We will be meeting tomorrow night July 6th. Please come. If you want to be included on our email reminder list, please send me your name and email address and I will add you to the group mailing which I send out each month.
