When our washing machine spins the water out, it makes a glub glub in the toilet and I see suds.
The toilet is on one side of a wall, and the washer / dryer is behind it on the other side of the wall, in other words, the laundy room and bathroom back up to each other with a wall between.
They both enter the drain line in fairly close proximity I would suppose. Is it possible that the pressure from the spin cycle is causing backup into the toilet ?
And the biggest question... Could the toilet be causing anything to go back the other way 'into' the washer ? Surely not, since the thing in the wall that we hang the washer drain hose is not closed, but just the drain hose hanging in the square wall thing made for it.
That's my biggest concern. I'd hate to think anything from the toilet drain line would go into the washer.
(couldn't be good for washing dish towels etc. Eewwww !)
The soap suds in the toilet dosen't bother me much if it's not a bad thing. A little soap in the toilet might help to keep it a little fresher. LOL. But...why does it do this, and do I need to get a plumber ?
I'm thinking that your vent pipe that goes through the roof is either too small or might be partially plugged. Sometimes birds will try and build a nest in them.
Get up on the roof and shove a garden hose down the vent as far as it will go and flush it out.
Did this problem just start or has it always done it?
It's been going on since the house was new. Built about 2 years ago. It has some kind of vent in the attic... I forget what it's called. Studder vent ? or something like that.
the vent for your toilet may not be between the toilet and the laundry hence the bubbling due to syphonic action when the laundry water goes by. the trap on the laundry waste protects you from the toilet. not to worry about but annoying.
I had that problem with the toilet bubbling and someone told me to try a rubber thing ( i dont know what its called) but your washer drain hose goes through it and it clamps on the drain pipe, anyways I did try it and it worked, My toilet stopped bubbling. A cheap fix at $1.50 for this part. It worked for a couple years then we had a new septic system put in about 3 yrs ago. Im having that problem again with the bubbling, and thats how I came upon this site looking for suggestions. The guy who put in the septic system said we should never have to have it pumped. This system has a 1000 gal tank and a bunch of stuff ( long tubes ) in the front yard, which I really didnt appreciate how it looked, But Does anyone know if this is true?? I also thought of this venting pipe thing coming out of the roof, Where does the other end of this pipe go? I know nothing about plumbing. Thanks
Your house DRAIN is clogged and you need to have a cable run in it to clear the obstruction. The house drain is the piping system that drains the wastewater from all of the fixtures in your house to a point three feet outside the house, where it becomes the house SEWER. Your problem could be many things (roots, separated pipes, bellies in the pipe, etc...) but it sounds to me like either a belly, or buildup in the drain or both. The rubber thing you referred to is probably a "Blow Bag" and it will not correct buildup in the drain or roots, or separated pipes.
