I live in a 2-floor townhouse; I have a electrical plug in the second floor bathroom that is on the same circuit with an electrical plug in the downstairs lavette. My issue is that on various occasions, the circuit is broken and neither plug works. I then have to flip the circuit switch in the basement and the power is restored immediately but I have no clue as to why the circuit breaks; it happens at least once a month. I used to have a curling iron that I left plugged in (although not turned on) and I also had a nightlight in the downstairs lavette plug. At this point, I have nothing plugged in at all unless I am using the curling iron and the circuit has never broken during use. I don't think there is anything else in the house tied to those two plugs. Any thoughts??

Is there any chance water's getting splashed on either outlet? That could cause it to trip and since they're both in bathrooms it's definitely a possibility. My only other thought is that there is something else on that same circuit, possibly something that's a major electricity hog and when it's on that's just too much for the circuit (and the other outlet on the circuit might be outside too rather than inside the house...at my old house my outdoor patio electrical outlet was on the same circuit as my master bathroom, so in the winter when my outdoor heater was running in the makeshift greenhouse on my patio, if I used my hair dryer it would trip the circuit breaker)
