Hey everyone.. I just picked up my countertop at Home depot and I have a few questions. I really did not look at the measurements of how wide it was as they all looked the same. We used the Mills pride cabnets and it seems the counter top we have had a 5/8 ths inch ridge in the front but that will not let me open the drawers.. Do I cut it off or just raise the countet top up to a better height to open the drawers.. LMK Z |

You can raise the counter height by using a plywood underlayment. This is why it's important to take all measurements carefully beforehand, though. Good luck! |

I would vote for raising it with plywood as well, I think if you try to saw off part of the preformed countertop it's not going to look very good |

Thanks THat was what I was going to do. I went back to HD and all the tops had the same lips. I have some scrape Ash layeing arounf that I just need to rip to size so it should not be a big deal. I just want to get this kitchen finnished. It has been almost 2 years since I started it and almost 6 months with out a stove. After I get the sink ready I will have the plumber come in and do the hook up then all I need is to put up the hood and chimney.. Z |
