Does anybody know how to grow escarole in zone 6? Not endive, but escarole? This may be a very stupid question, nonetheless, am interested. Thanks in advance.

It is a very good question, It's just that it is not a common home garden plant. The general consensus seems to be "grow it like lettuce" space 8 -10 inches apart. starting inside and transplanting would probably be best for a home gardener. In Pennsylvania, early spring and again in the fall would seem appropriate times. In the south it is a winter crop.
