Does any one do oldfashioned embroidery, the kind you do by hand. I'm trying to learn, a lot of the free patterns on-line are for a machine. So far I've learned there are some called Elizabethian, Jocobian, Stumpwork, and Crewell. Haven't done any,,,just looked at the pics. LOL I've seen some nice needlework here but most of it is crossstitch...I do a little of that also.
I've done crewel and stumpwork, but, since I found counted cross stitch on linen with all kinds of cool embellishments, I get too bored with the crewel & stumpwork. It was fun to learn but I've moved onto other things now.
I know the feeling...Too many new things to try..can't get tied up on one thing. I've tried some simple cross stitch, have not tried the more difficult pieces. I have seen some beautiful work...done by others. On myspace, there is a group that does cross stitch, and she lists sites for free patterns. Thanks for the reply... have a nice day.
