I took a watercolor class last year & just started another one. I used to paint in acrylics & find it very hard to paint "loose" as if feels so out of control, so most of my WC painting resemble acrylics. I'm hoping to learn paint loose this class. Here are a few from last years class. The art was my choice of what to paint. This sunflower was growing in my yard.

Wow, They are really good. I love the lemon's shine. They look so real. And the brugs are lovely.
I am new to the painting altogether. And I love working with the watercolors. You'll meet a lot of very friendly people here. Keep up the good work.

WOW! Your paintings are beautiful. I'm a big fan of cobalt blue so that one captured my attention right away... especially after catching the scent of lemons before I even clicked to enlarge it. :-)

Please share more of your work. We're gluttons for art here! HAHAHA

In the "Lemons" picture I must have painted over those lemons 10 times to get that depth. We had learned that in class that week, "Glazing" I have a pic of Tomatoes that the whole class did. I did not have the correct color of red, but the lesson was very good. Thia is not a very good pic of it. But as a first lesson on "glazing" you can see some of the strokes. Trouble with doing it in class, you don't have time for the layers to completely dry.

This is a pic I painted on my own after a class. It is not finished yet, it needs more depth.

If you'd only paint some lettuce, we could have ourselves a salad! :-)

Beautiful!

Very nice BJ . . . I'm with you . . . I find it tough to paint "loose" also. I guess it depends on what I'm painting, but for what ever reason I seem to enjoy a tighter more realiztic style.

Thanks for share'n . . . Hope to see more :)

Cala, I painted a lot of fruit in acrylics when I was young, I like apples & pears best. I need to paint a picrure of pears for my kitchen, someday.
GD, your lion is most excelent, & showing us the steps was wonderful.
I really want to paint loose, I guess just takes lots of practice, practice, practice! We have class tonight.
