Great 101 course.
You will see me out re-potting this years plumerias with a copy of your article, decorated with dirty finger prints! I would say that even though we are in Texas here, we definately should stick with the Clare recommendation on winter potting. I learned much the same way you did about upsizing and storing in the greenhouse over the winter. This lesson actually changed my plant placements in the greenhouse during the winter. I designated a "dry" section where plumerias, papayas, bromeliads, orchids and many other plants that should be watered sparingly. This proved to be a successful strategy this year.
