We had a great market today. The Baton Rouge Arts Market
sets up with our Red Stick Farmers Market on the first
Saturday of every month and always draws extra customers for us. We sold almost everything we brought.
Strawberries are starting to trickle in from the Ponchatoula area. They are beautiful but the supply is very limited due to the abnormally cold temperatures lately.
Lots of our regular customers that had been hibernating came out today after the sun came out and things warmed up a bit.
It was kinda chilly this morning with the wind blowing off the Mississippi River just 3 blocks away. Our portable propane heater helps to keep fingers working.
Today's low of 32 degrees was a heat wave compared with the low twenties a few markets ago.
We will soon have an assistant market manager whose duties will include recruiting and helping develope new farmer vendors. This will give the manager more time to devote to promotion and market developement.
Enough rambling for tonight.
Bud
