Does anyone know how long poppy seed is viable. I have a packet of seed that is about 8 years old from my Grandmothers garden...who has since past away.

A lot depends on how the seeds were stored, but with a connection like your seeds have, I think you should certainly try them!

Did you plant them? I take it these are the old fashioned Papaver somniferum poppies...quaint ornamentals that just pop up in different places every year?
