It seems that the only type fishing DH cares to do is fly-fishing for Rainbow Trout. He always brings home his limit and I gleefully put it into the freezer. Later on when I cook it, we both take a few bites and wonder "What were we thinking? this is yukky." All the while, pretending to enjoy it. What ? A pink elephant in the living room ? Where ?

I grew up on fresh bass, crappie, and catfish, which I miss a lot. But this rainbow trout is so oily and fishy flavored.

Anyone have any ideas to take that out before frying ? There are lots of nice recipes, but the only way we eat any kind of fish is fried. I hope someone can help. I don't have the heart to tell DH his catch is not fit to eat. LOL
