FYI Most major cities have Yahoo Freecycle groups in operation that will allow you to advertize your unwanted/unneeded items to GIVE AWAY and allow you to get items that you need/want. Search in GOOGLE for {FREECYCLE your city name} and then you can register and join the group in your town. It's fun and gives you a chance to give away things you can't really sell but still have a lot of use left in them or find things that you need. Just be sure to be careful to not go out alone to pick up things or let people you dont know in your house. I always leave items on my porch for pick up. jax in CO
I just joined Freecycle in our town and it's really an interesting idea. A great way for people to get rid of (or find) special items that are only needed for a while, like medical items, or baby things. I know I'll be using it to find good homes for things we no longer need. It's also a good way to keep things out of the landfill, like styrofoam packing material.
Recently I've seen some tempting posts with free gravel, railroad ties, bricks, and other good landscaping materials. I'm waiting for DH to be in the right mood when one of those "heavy lifting" posts appears! :-)
