While DH was priming the kitchen wall I thought I'd move on the the bathroom and start washing down the walls to paint. I removed the mirror over the sink and you can see where mold has started to grow. Yuck...That is some nasty stuff! DH asked at Lowe's and they told him to use straight bleach to kill it. That's been done and it looks fine now but I'm wondering if it will come back? Should I do anything else? I do plan to use Kilz over it, will that be enough?

You guys were so much help when I needed you on the texture problem so I'm hoping you'll have knowledge on this too!

I suppose it's too late because I forget to check this forum. I have a bottle of a concentrate from a hospital that I have used but straight bleach will work. Use adequate ventilation, gloves and eye protection!

I much prefer BIN over Kilz. BIN now has a water-based sealer but I like the shellac based one better. Dries in minutes.

Hi darius! It isn't too late as I've not finished in there. I did use the bleach and got all of it except for a very small area, maybe 1/2" X 1/2". I used sand paper on it and then used more bleach. So far things are looking good. I wonder how long it will take to start growing again if it is going to? I plan to use the sealer this weekend and then I'm going to texture over it before I paint. Think that will do the trick? LOL

Thanks so much for responding!
