    Does anyone happen to know off the top of thier heads what kind of hawk this is? It's a fuzzy photo, i know, but it was a momentary camera grab before it took off ...

    We have a pair of these that live in the neighborhood. They fascinate me. It's hard to get a good pic. I think they have excellent hearing. I had one in a flower bed last week, I already had the camera out so I thought I'd get a good pic. I got no more than 2 steps out the door before it heard me. I still got a good picture because he just (I really don't know if it was the male or female) flew over to a block wall in the back. I really wanted a pic of him in the yard though.
