| Excellent photos . . . and I think the little vixen is just playing hard-to-get!!!! The reflections in that last two photos are perfect.
Thanks for sharing - they are so beautiful, they look like statues (carved from wood!). |

| Here another with nice reflections.
Btw all of the above pictures have Geo location data in the EXIF file and DG doesn't strip the data. So if you download the picture, open it with Picasa2 and then Google Earth (if you have both) you can see where the picture was taken :) Click the image for an enlarged view.

| Excellent photography, and the setting is just beautiful! I keep trying to talk my DH into moving to Canada, maybe this will help!
(hehe, I'm a Floridian who wants to move to Canada to retire - I've moved north to Georgia, just gonna keep going!) |

| Thanks folks, took a while to get some nice shots of these rather skittish birds. Best time of the year to see the nice colors of the drake, in a short time they'll be less colorful. |

| Great shots. I have been seeing many of these lately. A few weeks ago, I saw 12 males after 1 female. Every time I saw them after that there were a few less males, as she was tossing them out of the running. They are in the woods now and in the trees, either nesting or scouting nests. It amazes me the distance they will make a nest from the water, poor little woodlings have quite a tough walk over big logs and sticks to get to the water, where the big snappers and pike are waiting. Last year I was walking in the woods and came upon a troop of them heading to the water. What a sight that was. A few minutes one way or another and I would have missed the peepers. What a wonderful duck. They look so unreal, wooden, carved or plastic. I so love seeing these. Thanks for sharing your sightings. |

It amazes me even more that those poor ducklings sometimes have to jump from up to around 40 feet height to get from their nest to the ground on their first outing. Now there is a test of courage early on :)

| Yes! let us not forget the first jump!
Nothing like watching nature to see how good we have it with our fancy outdoor clothing, nice warm houses, food easy to get, and nothing trying to eat us. |
