Finally, it is dry enough to get in the field. I ran the tiller over a few rows yesterday afternoon to air them out a little. I will make another pass this morning to mix in the fertilizer and then... it's tater planting time!!
I bought the seed potatoes a month ago and have been waiting for suitable weather to plant.
It is hard to believe that just a few months ago we were crying for rain and cooler weather. No shortage of either since November.
Will plant 300 pounds of Red LaSoda today and the same again in 3 weeks and 6 weeks in order to spread out the harvest.
I will apply about 800# per acre equivalent of 13-13-13 fertilizer for all three plantings today .
Later,
Bud
