Okay - back to basics. I always have a number of JM seedlings in my garden. 99% must come from the large (25 - 30 ft) Bloodgood(?) I inherited. It was the only JM until a couple of years ago. So what can be said of the seedlings? Are they most likely self-pollinated from the large Blood? Is it possible another JM in the area pollinated it? If so, I would have no idea whatsoever about how large it will get, the color, characteristics, etc., correct? Now some must be from outside because they have greenish - red early Spring color where the majority have the same deep red of the Blood. I am playing around with many of these - leaving them in the ground and pruning them to keep them small. They're 'free' so who cares what happens. Does anyone else do this? Any suggestions or comments? Thanks!!

Victor
